Any idea to apply the Coupon /voucher onto the apps?
Hi would it be great if we could include another QR for Coupon Voucher onto the mobile apps. For example,
Download and flash your coupon to get discount...etc
I believe many restaurant owners may like it as they need to promote their business from time to time.
and it definitively is a good selling point.

It's concerning engaging your LOCAL Not-for-Profit groups and LOCAL Businesses and getting them to work together for GOOD.
Let me explain....
You can use the images as Sponsor Spots/Billboards for the App. The Not-for-Profit organisation offers sponsorship spots for local businesses to help cover the cost and generate income for that organisation. This can be done as a one-time contribution or a monthly subscription for the Not-for-Profit.
BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE lol, then you can take it the next level and then suggest that businesses who sponsor, instead of just putting their logo, why not give them the option to add an offer and make their Sponsorship an ACTIVE Coupon.
One of the most effective ways of a Business using the Coupon is to encourage and engage the Business to invest the App for their own business and then use the Not-for-Profit Coupon as advertising for downloading their Business App.
P.S. Offer a small discount for the App and make sure YOUR one of the Sponsors!
This works extremely well with community based organisations and EVERYONE WINS!!! Isn't that AWESOME!!!
P.S.S. The more expensive the App, the more value they will SEE. If your App is TOO CHEAP, they will not see the VALUE and they certainly won't appreciate you, the App or the strategy your offering. \:D/
Hope this gives you ideas and inspires @scfreely @joemadden1941 @perfectp @BenCrockyKepinski @ToddGoldstein and everyone else.
Care to post a screenshot of how some of your apps use above concept?
!!! NOTE: BEFORE YOU READ THIS POST PLEASE READ MY POST ABOVE FIRST!!!
As requested by @ToddGoldstein, here are mockup sample images of REAL Sponsors Coupons used on the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie's Phone App. I have modified it for obvious reasons.
Altogether they have 5 Sponsored Ads on their App offering some discount coupon.
Also, 4 of the sponsors paid a onetime $250 plus, $20 per month in ongoing Sponsorship. Not only that, I have App deals for each one of the businesses.
Plus, I encouraged the Rotary Club to offer their own Coupon Deal - Buy 1 Get 1 FREE Meal Deal to attract NEW Members.
The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie is a Not-for-Profit organisation and are very pleased.
Since then, the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie have told other Rotary Clubs and they have started placing orders.
Be inspired!
or should it be inspirational?
Any chance you can post the app you have done to see how it looks on a iPhone?
Keep up the great work =D>
Hay @TerryTrainer you gave my awesome to @BenCrockyKepinski lol. BIG belly laugh!
Let me help you with some ideas that you can do to make Coupons/Vouchers yourself.
BEFORE you start, you need to give the following a couple of times, so you know you can make the Coupons/Vouchers to save you embarrassment.
Then when you're confident, go and talk to the Business Owner about the new service you offerin making Coupon/Vouchers for his business and work out a Coupon/Voucher... deal/special/discount they are willing to offer.
Firstly, there are many free basic images editing software in the market today - some that are online. Like http://pixlr.com/editor/ or http://www.online-image-editor.com/ .
LET'S GET STARTED: How to make a simple Coupon/Voucher to impress your clients:
1. Get a Theme Image suitable for the offer: i.e. coffee. Go to Google Images: https://www.google.com.au/imghp?hl=en&tab=ii and search for images related to that topic, open image and save to hard drive.
2. Resize/sizing of Coupon/Voucher: Open the image in one of the editing programs. The SIZE of my Coupon/Vouchers that I believe work best are 320x320pixels 72dpi for fast loading. The STRUCTURE of the structure Coupon/Vouchers are divided into 2 sections: a) Top theme image; b) bottom Coupon/Voucher details.
3. Add your Deal/Offer: Keep the MESSAGE SIMPLE & CLEAR. Keep the deal/offer/discount etc short and sweet. Too much info squeezed into the small space can produce a negative effect and reduced response rates. Make sure you clearly illustrate the user must present Coupon/Voucher to the business in order to receive offer.
4. Add/upload to App Image Gallery.
5. Present to Business: Now I strongly suggest you make the effort to visit the business and teach them how it will work for them. Also, encourage them to have a book or include it to their checkout software a way to gage the number of responses.
6. Follow-up Businesses: It is important to check the results and tweak the details of the Coupon/Voucher from time to time for many reasons. It mainly justifies a monthly service fee.
Hope this has encouraged you to give it a go and inspired you with new ideas in building your business.

Do you feel the need for a portable printer for the iPhone/iPad? and if so what do you use?
It fits in with our philosophy that app.cat should work perfectly for anyone, including non-designers.
@joemadden1941: Go try those online editors and be amazed at how easy this stuff is. You'll discover that freeing yourself from the "I can't design"-dogma will open up a whole new world of potential.

Its great to upload the coupon to the photo section, however, you can't put in too many text as it might not be cleared while viewing from the iphone. just my 2 cents.
Beside the image coupon, i would suggest to Appcat to explore futher the possibility to have a loyalty program in the apps http://www.loyalmark.com/631/why-starbucks-loyalty-program-is-so-successful
I have been trying to work out an effective Loyalty type program that works within the Apps current parameters and keeping it simple for the App owner to implement and easy for the end user to use. Like "As they mark off or get 7 stars on a CARD for purchases, they get the 8th coffee free" for example. But all to no avail.
When I do work out something that works, simple to understand and works for everyone, I'll let you know.
But for now, we at least have the Voucher/Coupon idea that does work very well for all who participate, easy to implement and immediate rewards/response.
I'm sure over time if the need is large enough the team at App.Cat will create something wonderful in regards of a loyalty Program. Our job is making the NEED for a loyalty program large enough that it attracts attention.
But don't hold your breath anytime soon because there are other more important priorities. I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. ;-)
But by now you know: We only release something when it's absolutely perfect and extremely intuitive to use for end-consumers AND app makers.
I didn't even think about "just" using a simple photo editing app (that also adds captions) from the app store to make designs and coupons. That's a great idea. And it keeps you fully mobile. Nice.
Let us know of any other apps on the app store that do a "quick and dirty" job of avoiding Photoshop!
