Paint the town - Why your splash page looks better than any other app
Grab your Beret and Bordeaux. We're discussing why animated start screens are our apps' equivalent to a good vaudeville act and why you don't need to be Toulouse Lautrec to shine with brilliant shebang.

For nav-bars I found "Art Deco" to work quite well. Occasionally "Moog". They're both a bit sassier than a corporate "Sans Serif".
I DO agree with Ben when it comes to general text: Sans Serif is the way to go.
One client who had very specific requirements for branding made me think hard and this is what I did: I designed the background to his specs INCLUDING the company name and object. All flattened as the background image. Then I selected NO flying object and set the font size for the flying name to zero. Worked like a charm. He now had a totally still and fully designed splash screen that also stayed consistent throughout the app.
Here is one I think looks simple, classy and clear to read... unlike many calligraphy types: http://www.dafont.com/english.font
What do you think @ToddGoldstein and fellow App.Cat's?
B-)
It also can put zero from appearing.???? is a suggestion
Again.
spinning icon in the start, would be better to have the option to appear or to be placed elsewhere.
For a custom theme design Icon "clogs", (do not know if the translation is correct).
This object should have more freedom as to hide it.
It would not be necessary to design a theme considering that you have a uninvited button to start the application.
It's just an Observation with Tip.
