I am getting great feedback about the new side menu. Not sure if it's because it reminds most folks of Facebook app or because it's easier on the brain. Agree with @ToddColdstein about "classy" vs. "classic" now that colors and fonts are aplenty...

@BenCrockyKepinski I'm also getting great feedback. It opens greater possibilities. Like more pages, tiered menus etc - parent menu, 2nd tier and so on. I also like the logo badge at the bottom as branding is important for business. Thanks heaps for all your efforts. You guys are doing a wonderful job.

The new side-slider also allows you to put more words on the menu. It's for the folks who still insist on writing "All Our Pizzas" and "About all of Us" instead of "Pizze" and "About"...

I like the option for more words. Not because I can't be concise but some clients want multi-lingual menus. App.Cat is the only app maker that allows to mix languages and so I love the side-slider for polyglot options, too.

I've also just noticed that App.Cat is the only app maker that allows "double line" menu items.
If you're editing the side slider menu, you can put more words in than when editing the classic bottom menu. BUT: Put more words in (while editing side-slide), then switch to classic menu and voila: You just tricked the system in giving you more words there...
Make sure to test on all devices so double lined menus are "double" on each menu tab or it'll look weird.
