About Our Studios
Academy of Performing Arts provides university trained instruction for ages 3 to adult and have been doing so since 1994. We envelop the practice of teaching with a strong but positive reinforcement basis from our entire staff beginning with the friendly and knowledgeable office staff and continuing through our class room instructors.
Our website boasts a syllabus for each class so you can see our curriculum first hand. We believe that you should know what you are getting for your dollar and invite you to come in and try any class one time for free before you register. This gives you the ability to make an educated decision of what your performer wants to take and what they like and in turn allows you the confidence that we are the studio for you!
It is Our Mission to introduce each person that we meet to an exciting journey! To help them find a healthy respect for others as well as themselves, a positive attitude, a consistent discipline and to live life as an example to others. To teach them to express themselves through the art of dance, music and fitness; to lead them to a positive challenge; to help them reach beyond their abilities; to help them see their potential, develop their goals and realize the powers of their dreams.
Our Drill Team Progression, Kick & Conditioning and Technique/Ballet classes are by far the best in the area to prepare your dancer for their school team tryouts as well as keep the dancers on their teams and making their dances each week.
Our Competitive Drill Team builds strong friendships as well as allowing the members to have a fun and enjoyable experience while helping to teach technique, dance and drill team skills as they learn the importance of choreography and performing with precision. Additionally, this helps your dancer master the skills needed to make their school team while learning to perform and developing good sportsmanship. Since our inception in 1994 an average of 94% - 100% of our competitive students have made their school teams. Our Recital Dance classes offer strong technique and smaller classes so your dancer can progress much faster than as in most studios. These classes are geared to help a child enjoy learning and develop a love for dance while having fun and making friends. These classes also help the dancer learn strong technique and precision in performance.
We also offer Drill Team Bootcamp for private Christian and Catholic Schools wherein we take our professional university trained staff directly to the schools choreograph all of their dances, cut their music and provide all the dance notes and copies of music to each director. This program offers more than dance; it also offers scripture and prayer time. Our curriculum allows us to teach the dancers how to incorporate their love of God into dance using a team chaplain and scriptures about dance for their upcoming year.
Our Music Program is growing by leaps and bounds. We have several locations where piano, guitar and voice are already being taught through private lessons. We anticipate the addition of percussion, strings and brass this season. Sign up for our email list so that you can be alerted of the start of those upcoming additions.
Our newest music program is Lone Star Glee or LSG. Again there will be more information to come as that program progresses. Please check back often.
Technology is an important part of our studios' being a trend setter in the industry. Our state of the art luxuriously decorated lobby boasts two 32" flat screen televisions with color cameras that simulcast video of our dance classes while they are in session. We also have large viewing windows for your convenience. In addition, we offer FREE WI-FI as well as snack machines, a bottled water refrigerator, water drinking fountain and cubbies for student's personal items. In addition we also have a Pro-Shop area at the studio as well as online where you can purchase items to meet your dancer's needs. Our online store is available 24/7 and in stock items are available for pickup within 48 hours of purchase or they can be shipped to you for a nominal fee.
Our website has Online Registration features which allow you to securely log-in to your own personal account and view charges for the year, pro-shop purchases 24/7.
